SUBURBIA IN FLAMES
Bishop Buttes finally returns with this EP, Suburbia in Flames. Inspired by Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day, this album does a 180 from Butter's usual style of hardcore/post-hardcore and metal and steers toward alternative and melodic rock. This album
includes a remix of one of Butter's earliest good creations. I'd Crawl Through Fire has been remixed in Why This Way?, replacing many of riffs to a lower octave. This album also includes
Butter's tribute to NiGHTS, Pennywinkle's Step Brother, one of his best ever overall songs. Probably the best song on the album is Cycle of Life, it took Butter's well over 3 months to finish. Hopefully you enjoy Butter's little deviation from the norm and look out for his next project already in the making. |
STOLEN TITLES
1.Warrior by Disturbed,
2. State of Emergency (Collab with Rofl) by Papa Roach, 3. But Tonight We Dance by Rise Against, 4. Facade by Disturbed 5. Nice Guys Finish Last by Green Day, 6. Scream Aim and Fire (Collab with Agent) by Bullet for My Valentine, 7. The Quiet Things that No One Ever Knows by Brand New. |
CONQUEST AND DESTRUCTION
Bishop Butters returns with his second full-length album, Conquest and Destruction. Moving away from his previous album and its mix of Post-hardcore and classic hardcore-punk feel this album throws you into a maelstrom of metal and Progressive metal. However Butters doesn't come alone with this one. this album features FIVE collaborations. The first is Breaking Free with Rofl Monster, the second is King Slayer with WhiteDivinity, the third is Caligula with Saiga, and the fourth is Peace, it Never lasts with Spectre. The last Collab is a bonus song with Rofl Monster, Burger, and Nocturne.
Also, Butters bring a solo effort of Melodic Rock as a bonus, Eternal Night (Tribute to Nocturne). The two bonus songs are in tribute to Nocturne, who retired shortly before this albums release. Enjoy this, Butters is already cooking up more.

AS THE RAIN FALLS
Bishop Butters first POM2 album entitled "As The Rain Falls" The album is a cllection of works created by solely Bishop Butters. However many outside influences went into making it. There are 5 songs on the album that are tributes to POM artists that influenced his music. They are:
1. When Flowers Stare - Tribute to Eliatriedes, 2. Severed Ties - Tribute to Spectre, 3. A Desperate Contest - Tribute to Fenderbender, 4. Return of the Heroes - Tribute to Nicedog, and 5. Fallen Hero - Rofl Monster. When Butters mentioned his tributes, Tino laughed and called him "Tributeman". Being what is likely the first of many, Butters decided to make it an album in tribute to these 5 artists. Look for more from him, he is already working on a new album! |
SPECTRE'S ALBUM REVIEW
Mr. Review's Rate: 4/5 stars
Putting forth his first release on CnB, Bishop Butters' does a very respectable job in many areas. His album wich features 10 tracks for roughly 35 minutes of music delves mainly into hard/progressive rock and post hardcore sounds. In fact, this artist has definitely crafted a unique sound combining stylistic dissonance, heavy tones and a suitable blend of melody.
One of the nice features on this record is that Bishop Butters' isn't afraid to stray from "classic" (or more generic) sounding chord arrangements. While it's an admirable step wich does pay off in areas, it also has it's share of drawbacks as some songs tend to lack a basic theme or progression and occasionally take little steps out of key. Contrary to the above stated, songs like "A Desperate Contest", "Return of the Heroes" and "When Flowers Stare" share some incredibly memorable hooks and impeccable structure. In general the impression that ATRF gives is that the compositions were written over a long span of time, wich, in a positive manner, allows us to see the evolution of it's author.
Despite "As The Rain Falls" falling a little short from being a tremendous album, it does remain a solid body of work as the gradual buildup of "When Flowers Stare", the creative transitions in "Down the Drain" and the unforgettable main verse from "A Desperate Contest" will easily prove. Also, a noteworthy mention must be made for the attention given to the rhythm section wich lays a very solid and entertaining groundwork for the strings. In summary, as a first release ATRF does showcase enough talent to be worth more than just a couple listens and it appears like the beginning of great things to come from Bishop Butters.
SPECTRE'S WORD OF ADVICE: @Bishop Butters, keep focusing on creating rhythms wich stand out from each other between songs and reintroduce those hooks (sometimes with slight variations) throughout the song. Creating a stable lead pattern wich repeats in a verse serves as an anchor point to allow the listener to follow the track with more ease.

Bishop Butters' bio
"Hi, my name is Justin. I joined POM.Net in December of 2009 and have become a regular visitor ever since. I have loved punk and rock for a long time before joining and joining has only fueled my passion. Some of the greatest artists on that site tore apart my earlier songs and helped me become the POM composer I am now. Spectre, XxXxTinoXxXx, NiceDog, and FenderBender in particular have had a pronounced Impact on how I make music."Bishop Butters is an administrator of Cookies & Biscuits Records since August 2010.
