A BURNING SKYE

"Thought I was going to retire, did you? So did I, but the call to write music and express my emotions in the form of orchestrated melodies was too great. I couldn't resist the call to return to the community I loved. The POMmunity.
A Burning Skye is an album consisting of songs that come from what I've experienced since my enlistment into the United States Air Force. I've been beaten and broken down as a civilian, then trained and raised up as an Airman. It's been a fantastic experience, even if only a few years. Special thanks goes out to Evil-Dog, POM site staff, and all past, present, and future POMers for their support, guidance, and inspiration throughout my POM career. *All songs are written by myself. Game credit goes to Evil-Dog. Album art credit goes to Spectre and United Graphics (You guys are amazing).*" Song Order:
1. Initium 2. Deadly Pursuit 3. Back In Action 4. Against the Current 5. Medius 6. A Burning Skye 7. Looking Up 8. Of Heroism 9. Feelings Aborted 10. Ministerium Ante Sui |

First off, I want to thank SpankyRevolution for the info. When I first thought about the album, I almost didn’t know where to begin. The only thing I had was a collection of songs to choose from. Worried that the last (and probably my most important) project might flop because of my inexperience with making albums, I decided to ask someone for help.
After listening to Poneycore by Spanky (which was a great album, by the way) I knew that he knew what he was doing. Also, considering the amount of albums he’s come out with, I thought that he’d be the best person to ask. So I did. The response I got was more than I had anticipated. I had asked about the art (I’ll get to that), where to start, and any tips he might’ve had. What I got was an entire page of information; information that may have saved this album from what I was most worried about. Audacity to improve the quality and sound, where to get the art from, who to talk to, and tons of tips. And, so, Spanky, thank you. I know that words can only mean so much when read, but when I say it, I really freakin’ mean it. You helped a lot in making this album, and I’m grateful that you took the time to help me out. Second, I want to thank Spectre and United Graphics. I was so nervous to ask because I’m not one who likes to ask a lot of favors. But I did, and I’m glad I had. At first, at Spanky’s advice, I downloaded Gimp, in an effort to toy around and see if I could make an album cover on my own. After three hours of trying to get the hang of the program, and failing miserably in the end, I decided to turn to United Graphics. After posting my request on the UG forum thread, a day or so later, I had a PM. Seeing it was Spectre, I thought it was a confirmation that he would be the one working on my project. As it turned out, it was not only that, but the finished product. I fell in love with it. It was beyond what I had asked for, and I wouldn’t have even dared to change it. To me, it fit the album perfectly. The beginning after an end (my going into the Military). To Spectre I owe many thanks. Not just for the art, but for taking it upon himself to help me out during his time, for nothing in return. P.S. UG does beautiful work (Thanks to jod.drummer for my awesome sig). I’d recommend them to anyone (especially n00bs like me who don’t know a thing about image-editing software XD). To this entire community; to the ones who helped me out when I needed it most, thank you, in the most sincere of ways. I owe you guys more than I could ever repay. It’s a sad thought to think about leaving you guys, but I don’t think it’ll be permanent. I’ll be back as soon as I can; hopefully with more ideas to continue making songs someday. But for now, thank you for listening if you did, thank you for helping me out, and thank you for being a part of this amazing community of such respectable and talented people. I’m honored to be among you, and to be considered a part of you guys. I’ll miss you all. See you when I see you, |
CHESTER'S BIO
"Hi there. My name's Chester, or Chet for short. I've been a faithful member of POM since the first game, and the POMmunity for about a year and a half now. Songwriting is something that's always been a huge hobby of mine, and POM.net was the best opportunity to get my work into a whole community of aspiring artists like myself. I'm leaving for basic training on December 13th, so my POM career will be coming to an end. But hopefully, someday, I'll get the chance to be back among such an amazing community and continue doing what I love."
