Complete Step-By-Step method to suBmit an alBum WITH PUNK-O-MATIC 2
Well my friend, here's is the complete solution for that enigma...
1) Well, you got to make an album of course. If you want to make a punk-o-matic album, please don't give us the codes. You will have to convert them into mp3, using the mp3 converter. You can find it in the goodies section of the punk-o-matic.net. If for any reason the converter doesn't work (don't worry, it happened to me) you can still ask some of your friends to convert them for you. It can sometimes just be a matter of computer.
If it's an album made out of a program like Fruity Loops Studios, or that you recorded yourself, be sure the songs are either in mp3 or wma. Well at least, it needs to be working and to have a somewhat of quality...
NOTE: There is no other limit in terms of how long your album can be that your common sense. If it's an hour long, make sure it got pretty good stuff. If it's an hour long but most of your songs are there just to make your album having that much of tracks, it sucks. If your album is just 4 tracks long, it's alright. 10 minutes can be enough for a punk-o-matic album.
There is also no limit in terms of what genre you need to do. If you decide to make pop music, it's as much alright as if you make punk, rap, metal or emo music. Finally, the using of "offensive language" in lyrics or titles is correct as long as it's not sexist, racist or extremely violent or sexualy very explicit. Except for that, the abusive using of "fuck" is alright. Because it is not allowed on pom's site doesn't mean it is not here, haha!
2) After your songs are created, you need to put them in a somewhat of order. Because of course, every album has tracks on a certain order, we suggest you put a number before the name of your song's FILE. For example, if your first song is called "Cookies" and your artist name is "Spanky Revolution", well the file name could be something like "01 - Spanky Revolution - Cookies".
3) Third, you NEED to create what will be the cover of your album. Once again, you cannot have an extremelly violent or a racist cover. If you are not sure, you can still contact us. We recommend you put that cover on tinypic and keep the link that leads to the pic. We also recommend that you add the cover in the folder where we can download your album. You can have more than one cover for your album, but only the principal cover of your album needs to be on tinypic and only that one will be here.
4) This leads to our fourth step: put your songs somewhere where you can download them. I personally use mediafire. There, all you have to do is to put your songs into a folder and then get the link that leads to your file and keep it. Having your files with numbers in front can not only guide your audience to know which song goes where, but also to make sure they will be in order on certain sites like mediafire, where your songs are placed in alphabetical order.
NOTE: Your albums need to be free in order to be shared here. We don't want people to have to pay money for your album to be downloaded.
5) OPTIONNAL At Cookies & Biscuits records, we believe that people prefer to listen to an album before downloading it. So we give you the possibility to create a cool widget for your friends to be able to listen the album freely and easily directly on the site. This way, we recommend you to create a widget, using http://www.grooveshark.com/ or using reverbnation.com. You will there need to upload all the songs, or at least all the tracks you want people to have access, place them into a playlist and then to create the widget. You should then get an HTML code that you'll need to copy ENTIRELY in order for your widget to be successfully on our site later on. If you want to see how that kind of widget looks like, simply get to the album section and you'll find some.
6) Well, that part was a pretty obvious one.. CONTACT US!!! In order for your album to be here, you will need to send us a message. You can do so by PMing Spanky Revolutoin or sending him a message through hotmail if you have his e-mail adress.Your message should include:
-The link to the place where we can download the album.
-The link to your cover with tinypic
-A short description of your album (1000 characters maximum)
-The HTML code of your widget, if you have one.
IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING YOUR FIRST ALBUM, MAKE SURE TO GIVE US A SIGNATURE AND A BIOGRAPHY. MORE DETAILS IN THE "WHAT TO DO FOR YOUR FIRST ALBUM" SECTION, AT THE TOP. CAPS LOCK.

What to do for your first album
When submitting your first album, make sure to give with it a signature that represents you as an artist/your band (Needs to have your name written on it). You also need to give us a little biography of your punk-o-matic career.

TYPES OF ALBUMS
Here are the types of albums that exist.
Long Play: Also known as "LP". LPs are basically the normal album, that usually has 8 tracks or more and lenghts between 30 and 60 minutes. This is the most commonly used type of album. Most of the albums on the label are LP.
Concept Album:: Concept albums have songs with a certain theme or a story. Concept albums can either be LP, EPs, Cover albums, Double-triple albums and mini-albums. For example "Tonight Is the Night" by Spanky Revolution or "Hero of War" by Poepoe29
Single: A single is an album with only one, two or three songs that artists uses to promote themselves (Norms wants that it contains less than 10-12 minutes), but professionals and well known ones might use it to raise money for a certain cause. It can be nice to give a sneak-peek of an upcoming album or to release a special concept song with B-side(s). For example, "Riot" by Spanky Revolution or "Vampire Town" by City X.
Mini-Album: Albums which only contain a few songs are called mini-albums. Most of the time though, we place mini-albums in single or EP category.
Extended Play (EP): EP albums have more music than a single but are too short to be known as an LP. EPs are usually between 10-12 minutes to half an hour, or 3-7 songs. Over half an hour or 7 tracks, it is most likely to be named and LP. In some ways, EPs and mini-albums are pretty much the same, but the term "Mini-album" is used when the album is most likely to be all done, while EP can be a kind of album under progress. For example, you can make a six tracks EP before making a full album that would include some songs (most likely modified) from the EP.For Example, "Shy of Perfection" by Nocturne or "Demo" by The Ghost Of Rick James. Saiga is another artist that made a lot of EP (Beauty in Abstraction, Last in Line, Policia, Taste the Bait, Modern Man and Bunny
Double/Triple Album:: For albums which are too long, you can release them seperately into 2 or 3 pieces. I personally think that you should rather only take the best songs from what you got instead of making a double or triple album, unless you've done a concept album. Except for compilations, no album on the label officially is called double or triple album.
Compilation Album:: Compilation albums are a set of songs which are made by more than one artist. For example, the "Punk-COmatic Vol. 1-2-3", Tthe "Blue Harvest" serie and "No Sunrise to the Punk-o-Maddicted
Greatest Hits/Best of Albums: Artists take their most famous or their best songs and put them in one album. I don't really think you should do an album like that unless you've already done like 5 records. If this is your case, I recommend you add some exclusive content into it. For example. "End of an Era" by Nocturne
Cover Album: Artists create their own version of another song is what a cover is. An album cover contains songs which were remakes of other songs. For example, "Acoustic Taughts" by Synthetic Audio
Box Set:: Though not really a type of album, some artists do sometimes release or re-release their songs and albums together in one set. I don't actually think that you will want to make something like that though...
