Secks Romp's albums
RIP
RIP is supposed to be a concept album for Secks Romp's departure from music. As it turns out there would be more albums to come from the band. RIP acts a eulogy for a fictional character that embodies the band as a whole. It presents good traits with upbeat lighthearted numbers, and presents bad traits with gloomy dark jams. It follows Secks Romp's more experimental styling with inspiration from band's like Closure in Moscow and The Chariot. The album artwork was taken from a piece of Nick Veasey X-Ray art.
RIP 1 Here Lies 2 Murdoc Thomas 3 Honest Man 4 Obedient Son 5 Loving Friend 6 Lonely Individual 7 Depressed Stranger 8 Tortured Soul |
EDELWEISS PIRATES
Secks Romp's fourth collection of sounds is a small ep entitled Edelweiss Pirates. Just some of the more experimental and strange songs that didn't seem to fit with the other albums. The title and art is based on the historical edelweiss pirates.
Edelweiss Pirates EP 1 I'm So Tired 2 Rebuttals 3 Ideas are for Successful People 4 Something Nothing Something 5 We All Need One of These 6 Edelweiss Pirates |
I AND II
The third album is a double disc set that is supposed to represent Secks Romp’s self-titled. I and II features a different version of Canada’s national anthem in Oh Canada Indeed. It also contains Secks Romp ode to the great computer game Minecraft with its two tracks I Made It in Minecraft and Damn Creepers (featuring sounds from the game). There are also references to things like the late comedian Mitch Hedberg, Freaks and Geeks, Hollywood Babble-On, and P.U.N.K.S. Also, It is just as all over the place musically as Secks Romp’s first POM2 album Maturity. The artwork was taken from stock artwork that came up from searching the word “fight.”

CLOWN
Clown EP
1 The Big Top 2 Pennywise (Shapeshifters) 3 The Joker (No Plan At All) 4 Ronald McDonald (Sugar Smiles) 5 Pagliacci (So Sad) The second album from Secks Romp was an attempt at a full-length concept album. The project was inspired from the artwork of the EP. Bruce Davidson’s photograph The Dwarf inspired a concept album of songs based on famous clowns. After becoming bored with the project the band stopped after five songs. The Big Top acted as an intro to the album. Pennywise (Shapeshifters) refers to one of the forms of Steven Kings IT. Named after the most famous comic book villain, The Joker (No Plan At All) is for all the Batman fans. Ronald McDonald (Sugar Smiles) is of course for the diabetes peddling clown of fast food. And Pagliacci (So Sad) is for all of us depressed clowns out there. Each song carries its own style that matches the title characters theme. |
MATURITY
The first album from Secks Romp produced with Punk-O-Matic 2 is entitled maturity, because that was obvious boost in quality with POM2 and the MP3 Converter. It features various television references and sound bites from Lost (Monster Eats the Pilot), Back to the Future (88 GPF), and Futurama (Shepherd of Sharks). As well as opinions on modern music (A Tack Attack is Broke Inside) and opinions on relationship and dating (Treat Her Like A Queen, Liars Make Bad Girlfriends). It is Secks Romp’s first attempt at a POM2 full length album, and it is a dozy. The band lacked a specific direction so Maturity takes advantage of all of POM2’s features. This led to many different kinds of genera being featured on Maturity. The artwork is taken from Roy Lichtenstein’s Pop art piece “Forget it! Forget me!”

Secks Romp's bio
Secks Romp was the boredom project of a young man who discovered the greatness of Punk-O-Matic in 2007. Every time I was bored it was time to go and make a song or two with some simple song loops. After experimenting with ways to record, five albums worth of POM1 songs would be created under the Secks Romp banner. “Rollercoaster Relationships,” “Sophomore Album,” “Another Anarchy,” “Don’t Get Killed At Five To Twelve,” and “Get Used To Being Alone Kid!” were all created with the first version of POM and have rarely been played since then.
When POM2 was discovered, along with a MP3 converter, Secks Romp first full album was created entitled “Maturity.” It was created out of excitement for what POM2 meant to the creativity of Secks Romp. Sound bites and jokes were always in the recordings, but POM2 allowed for some real diverse sounding songs to accompany them. That desire for more creativity led to the concept EP “Clown EP.” Then general bored-ness led to the next two albums “I and II” and “Edelweiss Pirates EP.”
Secks Romp was never connected to the POM community so the albums would just sit in one persons iTunes. So it seemed time to stop creating all these albums that serve little to no purpose. Secks Romp was seemingly finished with the concept albums “RIP” and “Hates Women.”
However with introduction to The Corner (A place for the bands of Punk-O-Matic), Secks Romp was resurrected and created two small EPs “III and IV” and “there is no light we are in no tunnel.” Now in 2011, it seems Secks Romp will continue creating its blend of Hardcore Punk that features everything under the sun, with random sound bites and intense themes.
